Built for the Author.
Not the Publisher.

Inktastic exists because the tools available to indie authors have always been years behind the ambition of the authors using them.

Our Story

Inktastic began in 2024 as a side project between a novelist, a typesetter, and a software engineer who were tired of watching talented authors abandon their manuscripts because the publishing process was too confusing, too expensive, or too slow.

The traditional publishing industry has spent decades building tools for publishers — for agents, editors, sales teams, and distributors. The author, the person who actually creates the work, has always been served last. We built Inktastic to change that.

"Your story deserves to be read. That's the only problem we're here to solve."

Today, Inktastic helps thousands of authors turn finished manuscripts into professionally published books — with genre-intelligent formatting, AI-powered feedback, and direct distribution to Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and beyond.

Our Values

✍️

Author First

Every decision we make — every feature we build, every design choice — is evaluated by asking: does this make the author's life easier?

🔍

Radical Transparency

We tell you exactly what our AI scores mean, why a formatting choice was made, and how our pricing works. No hidden fees, no dark patterns.

🎯

Professional Quality

We refuse to make tools that produce "good enough" results. Every Inktastic export should be indistinguishable from a traditionally published book.

🌍

Inclusive by Design

Great stories come from everywhere. We support authors writing in any genre, any language, at any stage of their career — from debut to bestseller.

The Team

Kim RM
Founder & CEO
Former literary agent turned tech founder. Published novelist. Built Inktastic after watching too many talented authors abandon their manuscripts because the publishing process was too costly and too confusing.
🔬
Sebby W
Researcher
Leads Inktastic's author research program, conducting in-depth qualitative studies on how indie authors discover, navigate, and stall in the self-publishing process. Her longitudinal research across 500+ authors directly shaped Inktastic's health score methodology, the friction-reduction in the formatter workflow, and the AI feedback tone guidelines — ensuring every insight the platform surfaces is grounded in how real writers actually think about their work.
🎨
Richard D
Head of Design
Ten years of editorial and product design experience, with a background spanning book typography, brand identity, and digital interfaces. Richard shapes every visual touchpoint at Inktastic — from the formatter's reading experience to the cover design studio — guided by the principle that good design should disappear and let the writing take centre stage.
